The letter “L” indicates the low content of carbon in the molybdenum bearing steel forgings. But this provides sensitizing stability in thermal process. Moreover, they show resistance up to 5 percent sulfuric acid concentrations. This is for temperature 49 degree C or 120 degree F. However, for solutions with greater concentration the resistance is very excellent at temperature 38 degree C or 100 degree F. But before using stainless steel forgings it is recommended to take service tests. It is because several operating conditions affect the forged products and corrosion is seen.
